17/07/23 Back from Holiday
Back from a weeks holiday in Italy and picking up on helping with a few of your computer problems on my return.First of all, I took my iPhone and my Laptop with me as we have a Broadband Connection when we get there. I had everything I needed to do a bit of work helping you or making a few changes to our Web Site BUT I forgot that we were taking two of our teenage grand daughters with us who would need entertaining and keeping busy every day! Very enjoyable doing “young” things but tiring as you don’t get a day off to unwind. Still, we got fit with walking and swimming and even had a game of cards one evening - had to use Google to remember the rules on one occasion. Before we went, I sent out our Summer Newsletter attached to an eMail as a PDF Document which normally works OK and you are able to Read or Print it, but it didn’t work for everyone (maybe the iPAD or iPhone users?). So, if you were unable to read it from my eMail, Click on the blue box above which should work for you. If you can, it is always best to Print it and sit down to read it through. Then try any clever bits for yourself.Note: A PDF Document is sent out in “Portable Document Format” - rather than a Word Document - as you may not have the Word Program on your computer but everyone should be able to Read a PDF Document (Everyone except those of you who couldn’t of course!)For Sandra’s birthday I am taking her into London to see an “Immersive Art” Experience which should be a New Experience and a new way of looking at the art of Van Gogh or Salvador Dali - the choice is hers. Apparently the art is projected onto the walls and you get to wear a special pair of VR Glasses (Virtual Reality) and you feel as if you are actually there and walking through the scene! .... Remember the Holodeck on Star Trek? The first appearance of a holodeck-type technology in Star Trek came in the Star Trek: The Animated Series episode "The Practical Joker", where it was called the "recreation room". In the episode's story, Dr. McCoy, Sulu and Uhura are trapped inside it by the ship's computer.Let’s hope WE get out OK!Have a nice Summer,John & Sandra (PC Senior)
